In the two days that followed since the events detailed in Incident Report 01, I had begun preparing for the end MC&D's Gaming Division. Those demonic freaks in Arcadia would dominate the market because the business model I had perfected throughout my career was being phased out of existence by a force I couldn't control. Luckily, the talented people in Acquisitions really know what they're doing. I put out the request and in two days they had the kid on ice. |

Since one of our members called in a favor, I got dragged into spending my afternoon as pro bono consultant for my previous employer. This faithful afternoon, I was sitting in with the creative team trying to get the ball rolling for Sims 5. People threw out the usual ideas; VR technology, better graphics, more things included in the base game, etc. It wasn't until Karen suggested a focus on teenage life and microtransactions that I really saw gears turning. I spoke up to ask to see the latest sales data for the latest Sims 4 expansion. When I saw it, my job dropped. Somehow the day's sales for that game pack had hit an all time high. It eclipsed even its initial release day! I decided to check on the expansion released before that one as well, and it was the same story. It was too good to be true for me. I asked to see their complete records for the Laundry Day pack; I needed to know if people were forking up $9.99 for washing machines, too. They weren't. According to their records, they had been giving it all away for free the entire day. I had them shut the servers down to do a full audit and virus scan. If that doesn't work, then they will at least have some time to remove the affected games from the market for awhile. If this is an anomaly, the clock is ticking for us to prevent this from affecting us, too. |

Mr. Wilson: My team and I have captured "Mx. DLC" as requested. After the bounty was placed on retrieving the item (which I assure you is not the norm for Acquisitions), I pulled together a team of competent individuals in the Greater New York prepared to work round the clock to find the root cause of this anomaly. We paid off the right people, and a contact at the Foundation clued us in on a group of anartist pranksters known as "Gamers Against Weed" (a supposedly ironic name). The contact gave us temporary access to their internal chat logs, and we spent a few hours going over them all. Once we learned the item's online alias and likely location, that brought us to Stony Brook University. There, we were able to zero in on our target and apprehend them. It was just a college student after all, so there were no further issues. Please forward this to your supervisor and inform them that I will be collecting payment on behalf of my team. |

That was quick! I've cc'd the executive team now, so you should be all set. I've also gone ahead and opened up a file for documentation purposes. I don't think we're planning on selling this item, but I think it's worth tracking regardless. Sending this to Mac Hazards to get a more complete picture of what Mx. DLC can do. Finally, I took the liberty to not include… my memo to Iris for personal reasons. |

Danger Report By Hazards Research Limited The following are the anomalous effects for "Mx. DLC" as far as our team could determine: - Mx. DLC essentially can only affect businesses which sell videogames. - This effect persists even for anomalous videogames such as the items in your possession. - For any given videogame with downloadable content, microtransactions, or similar monetization schemes; Mx. DLC will make such content freely accessible to every player who purchased the base game with no additional payment required. - Interestingly enough, this will not effect games that come in two different versions [Hazard Test Alpha-08 is enclosed for further info]. It's a good thing you caught this as soon as you did. Mx. DLC could've seriously crushed your profit margins. We will send out an invoice to you within 3-to-5 business days, as usual. As determined, - Mac Hazards Still better than the rest. |

You have done admirable work with the gaming division experiment. However, your initial memo to me begging for help with Mx. DLC was pathetic. I bailed you out here, but next time compose yourself better. Another instance of unprofessionalism in the workplace like that will not be tolerated. The goal with creating the gaming division was to provide our members with exclusive gaming content capable of near-impossible experiences. MC&D recognizes that tastes in entertainment have changed over time, and we are seeking to accommodate. To the main point… Due to this item's unique properties, they present an interesting opportunity to undermine your competition. That was the whole point in this little project after all, wasn't it? Wolf has had it too easy these last few years. Time to make him feel some pain. I propose we make an arrangement with Mx. DLC to see that through. |
